As the leading manufacturer of lighting globally, EGLO today produces around 25 million lamps annually in 3 factories in China, India and Hungary. It has a turnover of approx. €530 million and the products are sold through some 70 distributors worldwide. To support EGLO’s vigorous growth, the central marketing department produces roughly 20 product catalogues annually in different languages in order to showcase the 700 – 900 new products in a promotionally effective manner. As the main catalogue alone has around 900 pages, this means the realization of an enormous amount of product images and catalogue pages within the shortest possible time, a job for which a highly capable partner is needed. Due to increasingly extensive catalogue advertising, EGLO was looking for a partner with comprehensive and proven database publishing know-how. This partner needed to be directly involved with internal processes and support them if required. For 3 years now, M+M has managed the task of database-supported graphic page layout up to the creation of print data for the large main catalogue.

The whole process, including the complete digital correction and approval process is completed in just under 6 weeks. The softproof coordination platform used plays a central role in the process – a workflow control system adapted to the internal coordination processes integrates all the departments involved in marketing and product management, resulting an optimally lean and efficient coordination process and also providing transparency and clarity. After the first production runs, EGLO quickly decided to use softproof coordination for all catalogue production.

M+M is also always ready to be a flexible partner for special promotions: in addition to the catalogue production, the additional photography of almost 500 new lamps was realized within only 6 weeks. M+M can support the internal product development in content visualization with the CGI product rendering know-how of its subsidiary ZERONE. On top of B2B trade, direct access to the consumer is becoming increasingly important for EGLO. In the online shop, further images can be used to showcase product features more attractively and diversely – with an intelligent process and the efficient creation of alternative images, the potential for optimization can quickly be achieved.
